🔒 Short version: FavsAround uses your location only to find nearby places. We don't track you, sell your data, or share your information with third parties. Everything stays on your device.
1. Who We Are
FavsAround ("we", "our", or "us") is an iOS application that helps you find your favorite restaurant and retail chains on a map. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our app.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the minimum amount of information necessary to provide the service.
Location Data
FavsAround requests access to your device's location to show nearby places matching your saved favorites. Location is accessed only while the app is in use (foreground). We do not collect, store, or transmit your location data to any server.
Favorites & Settings
Your saved favorites, categories, hashtags, and preferences are stored locally on your device using Apple's standard storage APIs. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable iCloud sync (see below).
iCloud Sync (Premium)
If you purchase the premium upgrade, your favorites list can sync across your Apple devices via iCloud. This sync is handled entirely by Apple's iCloud infrastructure. We do not have access to this data.
What We Do NOT Collect
- Personal identifiers (name, email, phone number)
- Location history or movement patterns
- Usage analytics or behavioral data
- Device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV)
- Financial information (payments go through Apple's App Store)
3. How We Use Your Information
The only use of your location data is to query Apple's MapKit framework for places near your current position. This query is made directly from your device to Apple's servers — it does not pass through our servers.
We use no analytics SDKs, advertising frameworks, or third-party data brokers in FavsAround.
4. Third-Party Services
FavsAround uses the following Apple-provided frameworks, each governed by Apple's own privacy policy:
- MapKit — displays the map and searches for nearby places
- StoreKit — handles the in-app purchase for the premium upgrade
- CloudKit / iCloud — syncs your data across devices (premium only)
We do not integrate any advertising networks, social media SDKs, crash reporting tools, or other third-party services that collect personal data.
5. Data Retention
Since we do not collect or store your data on our servers, there is no data for us to retain or delete. All data is stored locally on your device and can be removed at any time by deleting the app.
If you use iCloud sync, that data is managed through your Apple ID settings and can be deleted from iCloud at any time.
6. Children's Privacy
FavsAround is rated 4+ on the App Store and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since we collect no personal data at all, the app is safe for all ages.
7. Your Rights
Because we do not collect personal data, there is no personal data to access, correct, or delete from our systems. For data stored on your device or in iCloud, you have full control through your device settings.

8. Security
Since all your data remains on your device, it is protected by your device's built-in security features including Face ID, Touch ID, and device encryption. We cannot access your data and therefore cannot be a source of a data breach.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify users through an app update. Continued use of FavsAround after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
